Robotics for Your School Cluster

A high-impact, low-commitment robotics experience; no equipment required.

Bring the cutting edge of Digital Technologies to your region. Regional RoboRumble is a turnkey program designed to build student engagement, teamwork, and real-world technical skills through a week of immersive workshops and a friendly, high-stakes competition.

The Best Part: All robotics equipment is provided. Your school doesn’t need to own a single robot to get started.

How It Works

Logistics have been simplified so you can focus on the learning. A visit to your school cluster is run in two distinct phases:

Phase 1: The Training Incursion

Each school will be visited individually for a full day of hands-on learning.

  • Target Audience: Ideally Grades 4–6.
  • The Experience: Students dive into an introduction to robotics using LEGO robotics kits. They will learn the basics of building a coding a simple robot to move around. No prior experience is necessary!
  • Teacher PD: Optional “Twilight” professional development sessions (3:30 pm – 5:00 pm) to help staff on a range of possible topics, from demystifying the Digital Technologies Curriculum through to training on specific technologies.

Phase 2: The RoboRumble Competition

After the training, the excitement peaks. One school in your cluster hosts the “Rumble.”

  • The Teams: Each school sends their top 3–4 teams (approx. 9–12 students total) to represent them.
  • The Challenge: A round-robin of “blind” challenges. Teams won’t see the tasks until the day, forcing them to iterate, problem-solve, and collaborate in real-time.
  • Local Context: Challenges are wrapped in themes relevant to your region—whether it’s agriculture, mining, marine studies or something completely different that is tailored to your students.
  • The Rewards: Points are awarded for success, culminating in individual medals and the prestigious Overall School Winner.
